LESLIE COOK, Director:

I love to read and to learn! I first taught someone to read in the early 1990’s on the east side of town through an adult literacy program there. I spent several years as a Teacher’s Aide where I gained valuable experience with kindergarten children learning to read, with students in the Special Education programs, and with after school tutoring of children for whom English was a second language. So, 17 years ago, it was a “natural” to use those experiences and start a program through my (then) church in Over-the-Rhine with adults where the literacy needs are so great. As an adult learner myself, I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Education. I am married to a fabulous(!), recently retired Lutheran pastor, Fred Cook, and we have four children between us, and five young grandchildren! We are so loving that!
